Teejopera (Four Lakes Country) – Birthplace of Hohonegah

Modern Day Madison, Wisconsin was originally called Teejopera – Four Lakes Country. Ho-Chunk healer Hohonegah was born in this region in 1814.
How the State of Wisconsin has upheld its end of the bargain with Native Nations like the Ho-Chunk since then is a story for another day.
Governor Scott Walker can’t even uphold Wisconsin’s promises with their employee unions.
